EN 12101 smoke control systems explained

EN 12101 is the smoke and heat control systems series. It can be relevant to smoke duct sections, smoke control dampers, fans, power supplies and other system components, while EN 1366 provides related test methods for some fire and smoke control elements.

This guidance is deliberately cautious. The right route depends on the system evidence, classification, duct dimensions, orientation, support arrangement, wall or floor construction, installation method and project specification.
